About Jikiden Reiki

Jikiden is a Japanese word meaning directly taught, or
as my teacher taught me.
What is Jikiden Reiki?
Jikiden is a term meaning ‘directly taught’ or ‘as my teacher taught me,’ reflecting that Jikiden Reiki adheres closely to its origins and the teachings of Reiki founder, Mikao Usui. It preserves Reiki as it was originally taught, without modern adaptations.
Over time, Reiki has evolved differently in various cultures. While some practices deviated significantly from Mikao Usui's original teachings, traditional Japanese Reiki persisted and was preserved by Chiyoko Yamaguchi in Japan. Today, students can learn Reiki much as it was taught in Japan in the 1930s.
A Tradition Rooted in Practice
Jikiden Reiki focuses on hands-on treatment, simplicity and personal experience. It places importance on feeling and responding to the needs of the person receiving treatment, rather than following rigid rules.
This approach allows Reiki to be practictal, adaptable, and deeply supportive.
Philosophy and Principles
The practice of Jikiden Reiki is guided by the Gokai principles, originally taught by Mikao Usui. These principles support mindful living, personal responsibiity, and inner balance.
They are not rules, but gentle reminders to support everyday life.
