Jikiden is a Japanese word meaning directly taught, or

Jikiden is a term meaning  ‘directly taught’ or ‘as my teacher taught me,’  reflecting that Jikiden Reiki adheres closely to its origins and the teachings of Reiki founder, Mikao Usui. It emphasizes tradition, authenticity, and the grounding principles of the original teachings, ensuring that practitioners are equipped with authentic knowledge and skills.

Over time, Reiki has evolved differently in various cultures. While some practices deviated significantly from Mikao Usui's original teachings, traditional Japanese Reiki persisted and was preserved by Chiyoko Yamaguchi in Japan. Today, students can learn Reiki much as it was taught in Japan in the 1930s.

Jikiden Reiki is straightforward and accessible for everyday use. It supports individuals in participating actively in their own healing and well-being. People can receive treatments from practitioners or learn to become practitioners themselves.

The Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto oversees the global teaching and practice of traditional Japanese Reiki.

The Jikiden Reiki Association UK (JRUKA) supports Jikiden Reiki students, professional practitioners and teachers in the UK.

Whatever your connection to Jikiden Reiki, there is a supportive network available to you as you develop and grow  with Reiki.
