Learning Reiki is not difficult, and Jikiden Reiki teaching methods are designed to help you succeed. Reiki is a simple technique that everyone can learn. It's natural to us, and you will quickly know how to give effective treatments to yourself and others. Students are often surprised at how much they learn in a short time. I keep classes are small with a maximum of six students, to allow time and space to absorb and practice new skills. One to one training is also available. Beyond the technical skills, Reiki practice instills a sense of peace and balance helping you connect more deeply with yourself and the world around you. This inner transformation is one of the most rewarding aspects of learning Reiki, fostering personal growth and wellbeing. You'll also have fun as you learn, forming new skills and friendships that can last a lifetime.

At Simply Reiki, Jikiden Reiki training offers a deeply enriching experience, blending traditional Japanese Reiki practices with modern holistic healing. You'll start with Shoden, the foundational level, where you'll learn essential techniques and the basic concepts of Reiki energy healing. Then, you can advance to Okuden, which delves deeper into more complex practices and enhances your ability to channel Reiki energy. You can choose to combine Shoden and Okuden into one comprehensive course or take them separately based on your preference and schedule. Through our training you'll gain valuable skills that enhance your own well-being and enable you to facilitate healing for others. This transformative training will become an enduring part of your life.

Shoden, meaning 'first teaching' is often referred to as Level One. Over three days you'll explore the history of Reiki, its founding members and its global develoment. You'll gain insights into Japanese culture, providing a firm foundation for your Reiki journey. You'll learn the meaning Reiki and other terms, and even pick up some Japanese language. The Gokai,(https://editor.wix.com/html/editor/web/renderer/render/document/849120d5-dbf0-4665-a4fc-800aa68bf0c1/gokai) five principles for living well will be introduced, offering deep wisdom. You'll receive three Reiju, clearing your energy system, and learn to perceive Reiki through Reiki Mawashi and Reiki Okuri . You'll also learn one Shirushi (symbol) for additional help, understand the body's natural healing process and ​ work with Byosen to read the body's response to Reiki. Self-care. is emphasized with guidance on self-treatment and giving hands-on treatments to others, including Ketsueki Kokan Ho to stimulate circulation. You'll also learn first aid practices for everyday use. ​ Time is given for questions, practice and feedback ensuring you leave with the knowledge and confidence to change your life with Reiki.

Upon completing Shoden training you will experience several important milestones in your journey. Shoden focuses on healing for yourself and others and on familiarising yourself with the fundamental principles of Reiki energy. After this training you may notice an increased sense of inner peace, improved stress management, and a heightened awareness of your own energy flow. As you use Reiki you maintain and build on the energy flow that was stimulted in your Shoden training, so it is important to put your learning into action. Now is the time for practice and exploration. Integrate the Gokai into your daily life. Start the five-day practice to develop sensitive hands. Include self treatment in your routine, and if you want to treat other people then begin now! As you progress beyond Shoden you may decide to take Okuden training. This level delves deeper into the mysteries of Reiki, enhancing your abilities and knowledge. You will learn advanced techniques for energy healing, including distance healing and the use of shirushi (symbols) and jumon (mantras). Upon completion of Okuden you will be proficient in advanced Reiki techniques and students note that they find a deeper understanding and connection to Reiki. Okuden is a requirement if you want to teach Jikiden Reiki. The teacher training courses are Shihan Kaku (Assistant Teacher) and Shihan (Teacher). This further learning takes some years to complete. Reiki can be considered as a meditation that leads you on a journey of discovery. Give it your full attention and it will become a lifelong practice. The learning never ends!

OKUDEN is a Japanese word meaning 'inner teaching' and is often referred to as Level Two. The curriculum includes the following: Further thought-provoking insight into Japanese traditions and culture, including Buddhist influences. In my experience Okuden holds some simply beautiful concepts. ​ You will receive two Reiju ​ You will be taught how to write a few words in Kanji ​ ​In Shoden you were taught how to give a hands-on treatment to improve physical and emotional health. In Okuden you will learn a further two techniques – SeiHeki Chiryo and Enkaku Chiryo. SeiHeki Chiryo –aimed at improving emotional and psychological wellbeing by relieving anxiety, fears and phobias. SeiHeki helps people bring about change in their lives by moving away from unwanted habits, whatever the issues involved. You will be taught when and how to give a SeiHeki treatment. ​You will learn one Shirushi (symbol) and one Kotodama (mantra). Enkaku Chiryo- distance treatment. A practice that uses energy to give healing to someone who cannot be with you in person. Enkaku was used with great effect during Covid and is valuable in many situations where someone cannot attend for a treatment in person. You will be taught when and how to give an Enkaku treatment. You will learn your first Jumon. ​ When the teaching is understood you will spend time practising, becoming familiar with the techniques you have learned. We will also take time to give and receive hands-on Reiki treatments, as taught in Shoden. ​ Students often say they feel their connection to Reiki has deepened as the Okuden teaching settles within them. Many students take a Combined Course that includes both Shoden and Okuden, usually over five days, or sometimes four days. Others prefer to take a Shoden only course and follow on with Okuden later, often repeating the Shoden course at the same time. Okuden is taught over two days, and the course is a requirement for students who want to teach Jikiden Reiki.

Our training includes quality content delivered professionally in a relaxed environment with strong follow-on support. You'll receive training materials, manuals and attendance cards. You will be regisitered with the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto and eligible to join the Jikiden Reiki UK Association. Upon course completion you'll receive a certificate in English, and the Institute will send a certificate written in Japanese Kanji – a beautiful document to treasure. Jikiden Reiki is taught worldwide, with course fees are set based on each country's, economy. In the U.K. new students pay £290 for Shoden and £260 for Okuden. Repeating courses is offered at a concessionary rate, showing our commitment to your ongoing development. As your teacher, I'm available whenever you require support and guidance. I also hold regular meetings (Reiju Kai) for practitioners to recap training points, share ideas and receive Reiju is also given. There is a small charge to attend.
